Alpacalypse, part 1!

The great alpacalypse swept the farm this past weekend! Well, partially anyway. Josie and Annabelle aren't pregnant yet, so they stayed behind for more breeding. But Gus, Running Bear, Emmy Lou, Malachi, and Amber are here and seem to be settling in rather well.

Gus, Amber, and Mal wasted no time giving themselves dust baths in the pathetic little strip of dirt between concrete landings in the barn. I love all of my alpacas, but I've taken an extra shine to Gus. Part of the reason I chose him is because he's very friendly. Every farm needs a good ambassador/sentinel that will show the other animals human contact isn't scary. Gus is doing wonderfully so far! He walks like a dream on the lead, and is just all around goofy and sweet.

Running Bear will also hopefully be an ambassador, but right now he is still feeling a bit shy and nervous. He sure is adorable, though!
Gus and Bear explore the full pasture for the first time.
Gus, Mal, and Amber also really enjoy sunning themselves. They look so silly all in a row!
Baby Mal. You should see his curly locks shine in the sun!

I'm having so much fun watching these guys and getting to know them! And I can't even begin to describe how happy it makes me to see the sheep and alpaca grazing together in the pasture. It's a big adventure, for sure!
